Privacy policy

Switzerland Tourism (Morgartenstrasse 5a, 8004 Zurich, Switzerland), a public-law institution (CHE-108.956.138), represented by Martin Nydegger (CEO), is responsible for the collection, processing and use of your personal data and for the compliance of data processing with Swiss law.

Your trust is important to us, which is why we take the issue of data protection seriously and ensure that data is subject to the appropriate level of security. We of course observe the legal provisions of the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), the Ordinance to the Federal Act on Data Protection (OFADP), the Telecommunications Act (TCA) and other applicable data protection provisions, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Please read the following information carefully so you know what personal information we collect when you send us your job application and the purpose for which we use this data. 1. Scope and purpose of the collection, processing and use of personal data when you send your application
When you submit an application via our job portal, we collect the following personal data (*mandatory) from you:

You can also upload documents in connection with your application on our portal. This may include any of the following documents (*mandatory):

- Photo
- Cover letter*
- CV*
- Certificates/references
- Additional documents

The data contained in the documents you provide will also be recorded. The content of the documents you send to us is your responsibility. Only personal information that you send to us will be collected. It is therefore up to you which information you choose to transmit to us. When considering your application, we may request that you provide us with additional information. We will only collect the personal data required to conscientiously review your application.

This data is collected and processed for the purpose of reviewing your application during the course of the application process. By sending your applicant details, you consent to the processing of your personal data for the purposes outlined above. Pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR, this consent provides us with the legal basis for the processing of your e-mail address. You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect (contact details, see Item 6).

Your data may additionally be used for statistical purposes (e.g. reporting). In this case, it is not possible to draw conclusions about an individual’s identity. In processing the data for statistical purposes, we have a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR. You may revoke your consent for data processing at any time (contact details, see Item 6).

2. Transfer of data to third parties

We will only disclose your data to third parties in the course of our business activities and for the purposes described in this privacy policy if we are obliged to do so by law, court order or official regulation, if the disclosure is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the performance of contracts and business activities, or on the basis of your consent.

These third parties include our order processors, in particular Refline AG, Baar, as our software partner, and the IT provider. These service providers are in Switzerland.

If you use the voluntary option to submit your application or spontaneous application via the "One-Click-Option", data from your CV will be automatically read out and filled into pre-structured data fields. The data is read out with the help of semantic analysis and artificial intelligence. A service of the partner Textkernel BV (ISO 27001 certified, with server location in the Netherlands) is used. The CV is sent automatically by our software partner Refline AG as an HTTP post data request to the sourcebox system of Textkernel BV, read by machine, returned automatically and deleted. The use of this option is voluntary and by using it you agree to this type of processing. The application form can also be filled out manually at any time so that your data does notleave Switzerland.

 


3. Data protection and confidentiality
We take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect any of your personal data that we have stored from manipulation, partial or complete loss and unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are constantly being improved in line with technological developments.

We also take data privacy within our organisation very seriously. Our employees and the service providers commissioned by us (see Item 3) are obliged to maintain confidentiality and comply with our data protection provisions. Your data will only be processed by persons involved in the recruitment process. In the event of a speculative application, all employees in the Human Resources department will be able to see your application. The respective line manager will only be able to see the data you provided if your application is shortlisted for a specific position.

In exceptional cases, employees of our software partner may be engaged for support purposes and consequently also have access to the data you have provided. Data transferred to Refline AG is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

4. Your rights
On request, you have the right to obtain information on the personal data stored about you free of charge. In addition, you have the right to demand a correction of inaccurate data and the permanent deletion of personal data, insofar as there is no legal obligation of data retention or legal permission to retain such data for processing.

Pursuant to Articles 18 and 21 of the GDPR, you also have the right to request the restriction of data processing and the right to object to the processing of data.

You also have the right to request we return any data you have provided to us (right to data portability). At your request, we will also transmit the data to a third party of your choice. You have the right to obtain a copy of your data in a commonly used format.

In addition, you may revoke your consent at any time with future effect.

5. Storage of data 
We will only store personal data in connection with your application for as long as is required to process the application and meet our legal obligations.

7. Right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
