HEKS/EPER employs around 600 full-time staff members. Its work is guided by the vision of a just world where peace prevails, the dignity of all people is respected, and natural resources are preserved. To complete our team, we are looking for:

MEAL Assistant GAZA (National Position)

Your main responsibilities:

General Program MEAL

  • Responsible for the collection and entry and verification of data from project activities and fieldwork
  • Support the MEAL Officer with ensuring data integrity and accuracy through regular checks and validation processes
  • Support the MEAL Officer to report collected data to the relevant UN Clusters
  • Conducting needs assessments, baseline, and endline surveys in the field
  • Maintain and update web-based databases for reporting purposes
  • Support the MEAL Officer with data collection for donor reports and other communication materials
  • Collaborate with field teams to gather feedback and extract lessons learned
  • Support the MEAL Officer in integrating contextual analysis into project design and assist in identifying and promoting synergies between the different humanitarian projects
  • Support the MEAL Officer with desk review and collect data from the team to support in proposal development

FCRM (Feedback, Complain and Response Mechanism)

  • Support the implementation of HEKS/EPER FCRM policy
  • Support ensuring the functionality of the FCRM
  • Ensure maintaining timely communication and responses to project participants' complaints
  • Track and analyze received feedback and complaints to identify trends and inform program improvements

Cash program MEAL

  • Support the MEAL Officer to coordinate with Cash transfer provider to set up appropriate cash delivery mechanisms
  • Prepare and adapt needs assessment tools to capture information relevant for cash assistance and ensure market information including access and safety to markets is properly covered in needs assessments
  • Support the M&E Officer to design online tools and surveys to monitor and assess the cash payments made to beneficiaries
  • Support capacity development of Cash programing within the HEKS team
  • Conduct continuous monitoring of the cash delivery process and provide on-sight support as required
  • Conduct the cash post distribution monitoring (PDM) survey in cooperation with the MEAL Officer

Partnership

  • Provide regular technical support to partners based on identified needs and requests
  • Assist in training project staff on MEAL protocols and reporting
  • Support with conducting training sessions for data gathering teams on data collection methodologies and tools
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to ensure effective data collection practices

To be successful you bring:

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or vocational training in the field of business administration, international development or similar
  • 2-3 years of work experience in MEAL with preferred background in cash programming
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring and evaluation systems in humanitarian settings
  • Fluent in English and Arabic (written and spoken)
  • Experience of working in partnership with local implementing partner
  • Experience of designing online/offline surveys

  • Willingness to travel to field sites
  • Ability to work in complex environments and to ensure that deadlines are met by internal and external stakeholders
