We are looking for a Global Category Manager Logistics to lead and deliver high-quality, innovative, and market intelligence-led category management across the global assigned spend area(s). This role involves building working relationships with key stakeholders, other category teams, suppliers, and external partners. The Global Category Manager will lead strategic sourcing to secure goods, works, and services that meet the needs of internal customers and users, ensuring value for money, compliance with relevant policies and procurement legislation, and generating efficiencies throughout the life of contracts. The role focuses on driving efficiencies, mitigating supply risks, and reducing the total cost of ownership through appropriate contracts and supplier relations.
Category Manager Indirect Logistics
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing logistics category (around €120M addressable spend) across multiple markets in Europe and Asia and three different business models (food solutions, bakeries and quick service restaurants)
- Developing logistics strategies to optimize and secure the supply chain in different scenarios
- Implementing and executing the logistics categories strategies globally
- Perceiving and evaluating risks and deriving counter measures
- Ensuring compliance considering safety and quality standards
- Coordinate spend to drive synergies
- Delivering results and on agreed KPI's
- Source, negotiate and review supplier contracts
- Building and maintaining relationships, influence and act as a procurement logistics expert across the organization up to Business Management level
Required experience, skills and competencies:
- 10+ years of experience in logistics category management (especially transportation and warehousing) or similar Supply Chain Management (SCM) roles
- Experience in strategic sourcing and execution of professional tenders
- Experience in contract and supplier relationship management
- Experience in managing international different stakeholders in SCM
- Effective delegation and project management skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Motivator, excellent in team work
- Degree in commercial or engineering/mechanical fields (experience is equally important).
- Mandatory proficiency in English
