Senior Genome Engineer (100%)
This position will build and lead a team focused on all aspects of genome engineering. Development and application of new genome editing and regulation technologies will be a major focus. Applicants should be experts in modern genome engineering, have a track record of pioneering and/or implementing cutting-edge genome engineering methods, experience with highly collaborative science, and some management experience. Applicants must be enthusiastic to publicize their group’s work in genome editing methods development, as well as the work of GEML collaborators, through internal and external presentations and papers. Next-generation sequencing is a major strength of the GEML and FGCZ, and successful applicants will be familiar with modern approaches to measure genome engineering/screening outcomes. This position is fully funded but will also be free to apply for external funding to expand the group’s research capabilities.
The GEML works closely with other world-class ETH centers, such as the NEXUS screening platform, ScopeM imaging platform, EPIC phenomics platform, and more. This position will scientifically report to Professor Jacob Corn at ETH Zurich, will operate as part of the established operational structure of the FGCZ, and will be located at the ETH Zurich Hönggerberg campus.
Required Qualifications are a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Human Genetics, or related field plus 2+ years of postdoctoral or equivalent experience. The candidate must be an expert in CRISPR genome manipulation methods development, have experience with next-generation sequencing (especially as it pertains to genome engineering), mentorship experience, and excellent communication skills as evidenced by presentations and publications.

Preferred Qualifications are experience in leading a team of any size focused on genome engineering, established visibility in the genome engineering community, and a highly collaborative track record.
