Head of Institutional Research and Analytics (100%)
The Head of Institutional Research and Analytics will be running the IR office and as such supporting the business planning cycle and processes for internal and external evaluation and reporting. Controlling / IR has a strong impact on supporting decision-making processes at all management levels.
He/she will be responsible for the central data pool and for providing information related to education and research, for supporting senior administration in decision-making as well as for internal and external reporting requirements, with accountability reporting for the ETH Domain being an important part of it. All this will include financial and HR resources as well as academic controlling, and topics such as university rankings, bibliometric analyses, graduate surveys and peer comparison. He/she will coordinate an ETH wide IR network and provide training and support for academic units. He/she will be supporting the VP Finance & Controlling as well as Executive Board / senior management with analyses and advice.
We are expecting the candidate to have expert knowledge in a Higher Education / Research Management setting with in-depth experience in data analytics and/or reporting. We seek a personality with effective presentation skills who can persuasively communicate with management, regulators, faculty, staff and students. He / she will have good knowledge of research methods, strong analytical skills and the ability to write concise reports.
The candidate should hold a university degree (PhD), preferably in areas such as higher education management, economics or management information. He / she should be familiar with the international IR community and be able to build on this network. Ideally, the candidate is German English bilingual.
