HPC System and Storage Specialist
This person will be part of the HPC Group, where he/she will be primarily responsible for the operation of multi-petabyte storage systems and for the administration of petaflop-scale Linux clusters comprising thousands of Linux servers connected together via high-speed networks. He/she will also be responsible for the design, installation and administration of physical and virtual servers as required by HPC and Big Data projects for SIS customers. This position is limited to 2 years.
The ideal candidate is proficient in the operation of enterprise-class storage systems (preferably DDN and NetApp) and in the administration of Linux clusters (RHEL, CentOS) in a production environment. He/she has a strong focus on automation and is able to write complex Bash or Python scripts. Familiarity with HPC technologies (in particular Lustre and InfiniBand), virtualization (VMware, KVM) and containers (Docker, Singularity) is highly desirable but not mandatory, provided that the selected person is open to new technologies and is able to quickly acquire the necessary skills on the job. Professional experience with IT security and with the handling of confidential data in a secure environment is definitively a plus.
