Applications are invited for a 6-months research technician position available in the Laboratory of Plant Biochemistry (Prof. Dr. Samuel Zeeman) at the Institute of Molecular Plant Biology at ETH Zurich. The position is available immediately or by arrangement.
Research Technician (Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology)
The aim of the project is to study the starch degradation pathway in Arabidopsis thaliana. The candidate will work closely with a postdoc of the laboratory. The project will be divided into two parts. On one hand different mutant combinations will be analyzed (genotyping; starch & sugars extraction and quantification), on the other hand in vitro enzymatic activity will be performed (cloning, recombinant protein production and in vitro assays).
The successful candidate is expected to have a Technician or Master’s degree in life science. The candidate should possess well-developed experimental skills in molecular biology and biochemistry. The candidate should be able to communicate in English.
