The Laboratory of Regenerative and Movement Biology in Schwerzenbach, headed by Prof. Ori Bar-Nur was launched on Feb 1st 2018, as part of the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) at ETH Zurich. The primary scientific interest and direction of the lab is to study the regenerative potential of stem cells, with emphasis on pluripotent and skeletal muscle cells, using state-of-the-art mouse transgenic models as well as human and mouse stem cell lines. The lab is seeking a highly motivated, responsible and organized full-time Laboratory Research Technician who will assist the principal investigator and his staff in the research laboratory.
Laboratory Research Technician
Primary responsibilities include independently conducting, completing, and analyzing experiments for ongoing research projects in the laboratory. Specifically, the collection and accurate recording of procedures and results, maintenance of databases used in the lab, and ordering necessary reagents to conduct experiments. Additionally, the Laboratory Research Technician is responsible for general lab upkeep and maintenance of commonly used reagents and consumables. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, collaborative, organized and reliable; communication skills and fluency in English are essential as the job role will involve daily interactions with international PhD students and postdoctoral research fellows. The initial contract will be for one year with a possibility of renewal.
The candidate should hold a degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Sciences or a similar research field. Background in molecular biology assays such as PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, cloning and genotyping is required. Experience with cell culture, FACS analysis as well as background in stem cell or skeletal muscle biology is preferred however not essential.
