Postdoctoral researcher in Agricultural Economics – Digitalization in Agriculture
The increasing use of information and communication technology (ICT) is disruptive for the agricultural sector. This development may result in innovative forms of farming practices and farm management as well as new forms of interactions of actors. Also the relationship between farmers and governmental authorities might be revolutionized. We are looking for a postdoc contributing to this exciting research field. More specifically, the position offered includes two tasks related to ICT, agricultural economics and policies.
First, the candidate will be responsible for the project "Agricultural policies in the era of digitalization (DigitAP)", in which the potentials for and challenges of ICT for agricultural policies will be investigated. Please find more information here.
Secondly, the candidate will contribute to the project "Reconciling innovative farming practices and networks to enable sustainable development of smart Swiss farming systems (InnoFarm)". Please find more information here.
The successful candidate will provide theoretical and conceptional input, analyze secondary data, implement case studies and publish her/his work in leading scientific journals. In addition, the candidate will strongly interact with scientists from other disciplines, integrated in a broad network of Swiss research institutions, as well as various stakeholders, ranging from farmers to policy makers.
The successful candidate will have a PhD and a background in agricultural economics, agricultural policy, economics or a related discipline as well as strong analytical skills. Proficient oral and written English skills are expected. Fluency in German is a clear plus.

We are offering an attractive position in a dynamic and successful research group at a globally leading university. We offer various possibilities to qualify for further positions. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Robert Finger and Dr. Robert Huber. The position is scheduled for 3 years. Salary and social benefits are provided according to ETH Zurich rules. The starting date is flexible, but preferably in June 2018.
