Applications are invited for a research technician position available in the Laboratory of Cell Signaling and Disease Biology (Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Krek) at the Institute of Molecular Health Sciences at ETH Zurich. The position is available immediately or by arrangement.
Research Technician in Molecular and Cellular Biology
The Krek Laboratory studies molecular signaling pathways regulated by oxygen and nutrient availability and the role these pathways play in normal tissue homeostasis and cancer. Our approaches involve a broad range of molecular, cellular and genomic methods and the construction of mouse models of human cancers that recapitulate key characteristics of tumorigenesis with a current focus on pancreatic cancer and melanoma. We also utilize tumor organoids and various screening modalities to translate our findings into potential new treatments for human cancer. We offer an interesting and versatile position in an international team and modern laboratory dedicated to biomedical research and continuous education. In the frame of our research activities, the successful candidate will primarily be involved in experimentally supporting ongoing research projects through application of a variety of different molecular and cell biological techniques and methods. He/she will also maintain specific databases, develop new tools and be involved in implementing and executing new experimental technologies. Knowledge of oral and written English is essential.
The candidate will have qualified experience in molecular and cellular biology and enticed to work in a collaborative and communicative environment with approx. 15 laboratory members. He/she should be highly motivated, should possess very well-developed experimental skills and be able to execute experiments in a well-organized and precise manner. Interest in team-oriented work is essential. The Laboratory of Cell Signaling and Disease Biology is part of the Molecular Health Sciences Platform located in the HPL Building at the Hönggerberg campus of ETH Zurich, a world-leading institution in research and teaching.
We look forward to receiving your online application (button Apply now below) with a cover letter, a full CV, short statement of experience and qualification (one page) and names of three referees addressed to Mr. Michael Wobmann, Human Resources.
