Your task will be to program an Altera Cyclone V FPGA that controls a ﬂexible pulsed DC current source (3kA/3kV). The control scheme should enable to operate the source with a pre-defined arbitrary current wave-shape within the full operating range and with extremely steep current gradients. An extension to power-hardware-in-the-loop operation modus is planned. The hardware of the current source as well as of the controller and interfaces are available and under preparation for upgrade. The position is limited to 12 months.
The successful applicant should hold recent Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Information Technology with very good grades. She/he should be highly motivated and ready to work in an multi-disciplinary research team. Programming experience with VHDL is required, prior knowledge in communication with electrotechnical hardware is of advantage, but not mandatory.
