Postdoctoral Position in Agricultural Economics
The research activities of the Agricultural Economics and Policy (AECP) Group, led by Prof. Dr. Robert Finger, aim to improve the understanding of linkages between policies and production and risk management decisions taken in the agricultural and food sector. Our research contributes to the evaluation and design of agricultural policies and risk management instruments. The research activities of the successful candidate contributes to research activities of AECP by focusing on farm-level decisions and the use of empirical research approaches (e.g. econometric analysis, surveys).
The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate level (in German) in an inspiring teaching environment within the agricultural science program of ETH Z├╝rich. Supervision of the thesis work of bachelor and master students in the field of research of the successful candidate is also expected. Teaching and supervision tasks are limited to a level that allows the successful candidate to develop a strong research record.
We are offering a full-time position with a competitive salary in a dynamic research team of agricultural economists offering an excellent research and teaching environment. Salary and social benefits are provided according to ETH Zurich rules. The starting date is upon availability, with a contract limited to 2 years with possibility for extension.
The successful candidate will have a PhD degree (or will be close to completion), strong analytical skills and background in agricultural economics. Proficient oral and written English skills are expected. Strong econometric skills and/or experiences with surveys and/or some experiences in teaching and supervision are a clear plus. This position requires the candidate to be fluent in German, candidates without sufficient language skills will not be considered.
