At the joint Institute for Biomedical Engineering (IBT) of the ETH and University of Zurich one research focus is on the development of imaging techniques based on magnetic resonance (MRI). With more than 40 employees and in close collaboration with industrial partners the IBT develops new MRI methods from basic physics to engineering solutions and medical applications.
To expand our MRI Technology group (head Prof. Klaas Prüssmann) we are looking for a Physicist or Engineer to be employed as a
PhD Student in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Magnetic Field Sensing
The aim of this position is to advance magnetic field sensing for MRI. Field monitoring during imaging procedures enhances imaging fidelity and speed and holds promise for a wide range of MRI applications. The activity includes research on and implementation of data acquisition, signal processing, and hardware modelling. Join a versatile research team and benefit from a rich educational environment.
The position requires a master’s degree in physics or engineering, a solid mathematical background, sound programming skills, as well as affinity to experimental tasks. Basic knowledge of magnetic resonance, numerical optimization, or machine learning is an advantage. You will work in a self-dependent, proactive and targeted manner. A high degree of commitment and the ability to work in a team are important prerequisites. Good English language skills enable you to operate as part of a young, international team.
