The Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication of ETH Zurich examines the changes in architectural production that result from the introduction of digital manufacturing techniques. The main focus is ground-breaking research into computational design, constructive systems and their synthesis through the use of novel robotic fabrication technologies. Starting from April 2017 we offer an:
Internship at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication
We are looking for an addition to the team working on the research project “Mesh Mould” – an innovative digital design and robotic fabrication process for non-standard concrete elements, which investigates the unification of formwork and reinforcement. As such, the candidate will support the team in the realization of a 1:1 building project and assist with the documentation of the research. The project is embedded in National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication, where a specific focus is set on multidisciplinary research. The internship (full-time) spans 4 months and is funded according to standard regulations.
The candidate should be a student or recent graduate from architecture with a strong suit in digital fabrication, physical prototyping and ideally profound knowledge in programming. Fluent English language skills are required for this position.
