For the Institute of Applied Information Technology (InIT) of the ZHAW School of Engineering in Winterthur, we are looking for a highly motivated candidate that will join the Human Information Interaction research group as
Research Assistant in Mobile App Development 50 - 100 %
We pursue various research projects in the area of mobile applications involving augmented and virtual reality, image processing and speech recognition as well as usability and accessibility. You are going to assist us in making research concepts real.
Your areas of responsibility will include:
- Development of native mobile apps for iOS (Swift, Objective-C)
- Maintaining the official apps of the ZHAW School of Engineering
- Assisting in teaching from time to time, e.g. by supporting labs
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and have at least one year of experience in the development of native mobile apps with Swift/Objective-C. Having a firm grasp of modern software development techniques like test-driven development and continuous integration is a must, too.
You enjoy staying ahead of technology and continually strive to improve your skills. You have a flair for the design of intuitive user interfaces and you know how to make an app accessible to impaired users. Experience in developing augmented reality apps with ARKit is a plus as well as being skilled in integrating cloud services like Firebase and developing web services with Spring in Java or Kotlin. You are fluent in German or English and are interested in scientific work. This includes proposing novel ideas, scientific analyses and evaluations, writing reports, and presenting your results.
The position is provisionally limited to one year but can be renewed by mutual agreement.
