The Information Security research group at the Institute of Applied Information Technology (InIT) is currently focusing on the areas of «Secure Applications and Systems» and «Information Infrastructure Protection». With our currently 3 lecturers and 10 researchers, we usually work on 4-6 R&D projects simultaneously, which are mostly financed by national (primarily Innosuisse) and international (primarily EU FP) funding instruments.
Furthermore, our group is involved in several teaching modules (Bachelor and Master) in the field of IT security and is also offering a continuing education program in the field of IT security. To strengthen the Information Security research group in Winterthur, we are looking for a (start by arrangement)
Lecturer in Information Security (100 %)
- Acquisition of national and international research and development projects, in particular projects funded by the EU research program
- Management and processing of R&D projects
- Publication of project results in journals and at conferences
- Teaching at bachelor’s and master’s level
- Supervision of project, bachelor and master theses
- Participation in the strategic development of the Information Security research group
For these tasks you bring along a dissertation in the field of computer science or a related field. You have 5 or more years of experience in working on, managing and acquiring international research projects, especially in the EU research program. As an active member of the academic community you have published several relevant scientific publications in the last 3 years. Furthermore, you have a good network within the Information Security Community in Europe as well as a comprehensive technical knowledge in the field of information security. Special knowledge in at least one area of information security, preferably with relevance for the topics «Secure Applications and Systems» or «Information Infrastructure Protection» is an advantage. Teaching experience is advantageous, but not mandatory.
As an action-oriented personality with a high willingness to perform and social competence, you are committed to the concerns of students and clients. You should be interested in using your research to contribute to solving practical problems and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary and result-oriented manner. Finally, we expect candidates to have very good knowledge of English and be willing to learn German as this simplifies collaboration with students, the industry and authorities.
