Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) is one of Europe’s leading arts universities with approximately 2’100 bachelor and master students and seven research institutes. Our degree and research programmes include the fields of design, film, art, media, music, dance, theatre, art education and transdisciplinary studies.
The Immersive Arts (www.immersive-arts.ch) at ZHdK combine digital media technologies with interactive principles to develop new practices in the arts and design. Our Immersive Arts Space (IAS) is a university-wide “Art and Techlab” that serves as a research, teaching and production platform. The IAS engages intensively with today’s digital transformation by pursuing artistic research questions and practices. In doing so, it integrates and critically reflects on the potential of new technologies. Its overarching structure enables the IAS to promote interdepartmental studies and collaboration within ZHdK’s degree programmes, and to deepen approaches to inter- and transdisciplinary research. In the context of the Digitisation Initiative of the Zurich Universities (DIZH), the IAS undertakes collaborative projects with Zurich’s other higher education institutions.
