For the Reactor Physics and Thermal-Hydraulics Laboratory we are looking for a
Your tasks
- Development of nuclear fuel performance codes, including both established methodologies and high-fidelity approaches
- Modelling and simulation of standard and advanced fuel concepts, covering operational, transient, accident, and storage scenarios
- Verification and validation of models, methods, and computational tools using international benchmark data and post irradiation examinations, and experimental measurements
- Technical support to the regulator through independent assessments and expert review of fuel related safety questions
- Participation in international activities, preparation of research proposals, publication of scientific articles and supervision of students
Your profile
- PhD degree in nuclear engineering (or related discipline)
- Strong background and interest in nuclear fuel behaviour, fuel performance modelling, and materials under irradiation
- Solid experience with fuel performance codes (e.g., FRAPCON/FRAPTRAN, TRANSURANUS, FALCON, BISON, OFFBEAT etc.)
- Experience with validation, benchmarking, and interpretation of fuel related experimental results
- High proficiency in programming and scripting capabilities
- Good knowledge of numerical methods for scientific computing
- Familiarity with regulator-oriented analysis workflows is a plus
