For Neutron Optics and Scientific Computing Group we are looking for a
Scientific Software Engineer
Your tasks
Development and maintenance of the data acquisition software for the neutron scattering instruments at the spallation neutron source SINQ. The task involves interfacing with electronics and scientists and then design and implement software to make the instrument work as necessary to fulfill its scientific purpose. Data acquisition software at SINQ is developed collaboratively together with internal and external partners. Occasionally the task requires to work in controlled areas (SINQ).
Your profile
  • Master degree in natural science or informatics
  • Solid experience in programming in C/C++ and python
  • Experience in programming close to the hardware and in a Linux environment would be an advantage
  • Ability to independently solve problems and collaborate with international partners
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, knowledge of German or willingness to learn German is very welcome
