For the Battery Materials and Diagnostics Group we are looking for a
- Ex-situ and operando X-ray photoemission spectroscopy XPS and X-ray absorption spectroscopy XAS measurements of all-solid-state batteries
- Fundamental understanding of the surface and interface, with focus on chemical and electronic properties
- Electrochemical testing (cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic cycling, etc)
- Designing operando electrochemical cells for XPS and XAS measurements
- Publication of results in scientific journals and presentations at scientific meetings
- Supervision of students
In the framework of colaborative work between the electrochemical laboratory and the Surfaces / Interfaces: Microscopy SIM beamline at Swiss Light Source SLS, we are looking for a self-motivated team player able to work independently and with prior experience in interface characterization, electrochemistry, and battery research. The candidiate must have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or in a related field. A good background in XPS and XAS is expected. Experience in all-solid-state battery and battery material interfaces is an asset. Very good command of English is required. The experimental work will be caried at the PSI in Villigen, within the framework of SFA-AM-sinergia project including Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology Empa and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETHZ in Zurich.
