Your tasks
  • Development of the on-line photon diagnostics and the instrumentation for the Furka endstation in collaboration with internal groups with expertise in photon diagnostics
  • Implementation and execution of original pump probe experiments to study ultrafast dynamics of condensed matter and quantum materials at the Furka endstation
  • Participation in user support for experiments at SwissFEL and coordination of the work with internal and external collaborators
  • Development and implementation of new measurement concepts and devices for FELs
Your profile
  • PhD degree in experimental physics with expertise in on-line photon diagnostics tools and instrumentation
  • Sound knowledge in ultrafast X-ray techniques such as resonant elastic or inelastic X-ray spectroscopy, scattering, X-ray absorption spectroscopy and/or other related techniques
  • Excellent communication skills in English and strong organizational skills for being proactive across multiple research initiatives in an interdisciplinary environment
