The WASH Learning Lab develops and manages global and context-specific education programs, collaborating closely with Sandec‘s research groups and partners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Our work bridges research and education, testing innovations to strengthen WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) capacity globally. More information can be found here.
With the rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), there is a growing need to systematically assess how these tools can enhance WASH education, particularly in low- and middle-income country contexts. In this internship, you will support the WASH Learning Lab by identifying, reviewing, and practically testing AI-based tools relevant to teaching, learning, and knowledge sharing in WASH. The focus is both analytical and hands-on, bridging educational theory with real-world application.

The position will be based at Eawag in Dübendorf, Switzerland. Earliest staring date is 15 April 2026 and the duration of the internship would be 4 months.
