The Department Urban Water Management (SWW) has a vacancy for a
Climate change, pollution, continuous urbanization and digitalization are transforming urban water monitoring and management, necessitating innovative, solution-oriented approaches. We are offering the opportunity to work as an intern on the urbanM20 collaborative European project. This project focuses on the intersection of field monitoring, data management and modelling, in a dynamic science and technology-driven environment.
To support our local monitoring activities in Canton Zürich, we are seeking a motivated person to support the establishment of fieldwork and conduct initial measurements for 4-6 months.
You will work closely with Eawag researchers and national/international collaborators. We provide a vibrant, collaborative research environment with cutting-edge infrastructure, offering opportunities for personal growth and skill development.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a responsible and motivated individual who can adapt to changing circumstances and work independently across different environments and teams, and who brings strong integrative skills together with a high level of social and emotional intelligence.
The successful candidate is currently pursuing an MSc in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Chemistry and demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and further develop both laboratory and fieldwork skills. A valid driving licence is required for this position. The role also calls for very good written and verbal proficiency in English, while communication skills in German are considered a strong asset.
