The Department of Environmental Social Sciences (ESS) invites applications for a
Research Assistant on data mining and data analysis (20%)
This position is part of a research project Understanding the demand for carbon-neutral products and services, carried out by the environmental economics research group. The research assistant will work with Begüm Özdemir Oluk, Dr Fabian Dvorak, Dr Ivana Logar (all from Eawag) and Dr Stefano Carattini (Georgia State University). The selected candidate will help the researchers collecting, cleaning, and potentially analyzing data for the project. 

The main responsibility of the successful candidate consists in supporting the research project, with data collection, cleaning, and analysis. In particular, there is a special need for skills in machine learning and text analysis. 

We are looking for a Bachelor or Master student with advanced data skills (scraping, machine learning), familiarity with at least one statistical package or code (Stata, R, Python), and a permission to work in Switzerland. 

This position offers insights into the academic profession, an opportunity to exchange with a highly motivated research team and the possibility to work remotely.
