is looking for a student assistant. We are currently analyzing literature about environmental decision projects that use Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA). This work is remunerated on an hourly basis, and there is some flexibility to adapt working hours and workload.
You will be supporting general work of the decision analysis group, and specifically support a literature review about environmental decisions using MCDA. You will be working together with another, experienced student. Tasks:
- Data entry: summary reading, analysis, and coding of scientific articles according to classification rules
- Data entry in Excel according to the coding (by hand and using Python scripts)
- Data processing: simple statistical analysis and data visualization (Excel, R, and/or Python)
- Writing internal reports of the results
- Possibly, general administrative support (e.g., writing protocol, preparing other material)
SupervisionThe project is supervised by PD Judit Lienert (group leader).
Your profile The prospective candidate for this position is a bachelor or master student in a Social Science discipline or in Environmental Sciences. Other disciplines and a Master degree will be considered only if the skill set matches. We hope for a person with some experience in document analyses or literature research. The person should be curious, fast, and flexible in order to be able to categorize main insights from the scientific papers in a new field (we will support you in learning this). The position requires experience with Excel and basic statistical skills, and if possible experience with data analysis and visualization in R or Python. We expect a reliable and very exact working style. Fluent oral and written English is required; experience with decision analysis is a plus.
