The Department of Surface Waters Research and Management (SURF) uses and develops scientific software for data acquisition, analysis, operational numerical modelling and visualization. Data can be both internally collected or extracted from large open access database.
Your tasks include the maintenance and further development of existing scientific software and the development of new software tools for data acquisition, access to databases, data management, data visualization and operation of numerical models. You will also support the scientists from the Surf department and other Eawag departments in complying with good practice in the development and maintenance of own software. Cooperation with the IT department is ensured. The position is located in Kastanienbaum (Lucerne). However, part of the Surf department is located in Dübendorf (Zurich) and regular presence in Dübendorf is therefore expected.
You are a reliable, motivated, proactive and very independent thinking personality with good communication skills in German and English. You enjoy working in a team and feel comfortable in a multicultural environment.
