The position will be in the research group Reactors and Processes for Power-to-X, which is part of the Chemical Energy Carriers and Vehicle Systems laboratory at Empa. The group focuses on developing novel reactor and process concepts along the value chain of carbon capture and utilization and on integrating them into a net-zero energy system.
Your tasks
- Conceptualization, construction, installation, and operation of test setups for catalytic reactors and process technology
- Conceptualization, implementation, and programming of electronic controls
- Responsible for laboratory equipment, analytical devices, service and repairs
- Support in operation of the Power-to-X demonstrator 'move'
Your profile
- Education as laboratory technician for chemistry, physics or equivalent or mechanical engineer/automation engineer/mechatronics (FH, HS, HF, or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience in construction, installation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Experience in laboratory gas technology, chemical reactors, separation processes or equivalent
- Highly motivated team player interested in new technologies and good manual skills
