Empa's Electron Microscopy Center is offering a position for a
Postdoctoral researcher in electron microscopy of catalytic systems (a)

Funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, the primary goal of this project is to investigate real-world catalytic systems by analytical transmission electron microscopy. You will be responsible for innovative, experimental studies, including in-situ investigations of catalytic materials, comprising development and implementation of new experimental approaches and/or methods for data analysis. You will also coordinate collaborations with internal and external research groups. Simulations can be part of the research work.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a doctoral degree in materials science, physics, chemistry or a related discipline with experience in analytical (scanning) transmission electron microscopy and scripting (e.g. Python). Further, you feel comfortable communicating and collaborating with your team members in a multicultural environment. The position (80-100%) will be available as of January 2023 or upon agreement. The candidate's PhD degree should preferably not date back more than 4 years. The position is for a maximum duration of two years.
