In line with its mission, Empa's Technology and Society Laboratory (TSL) creates and transfers knowledge to support the transition to a more sustainable society. As part of TSL, theEnvironmental Risk Assessment and Management (ERAM) group conducts high-level research to evaluate, model and experimentally investigate the interactions of materials originating from new technology applications and products with the environment. ERAM is currently looking for a
to work on an applied and interdisciplinary research project, “Greensense”, in an international context on life cycle assessment and material flow analysis of new materials for paper-based electronics. The European project Greensense focuses on the implementation of Eco-Design in industrial innovation processes for NanoCellulose-based printed electronics and biosensors. The two-year position will mainly involve the following tasks:
The successful candidate should hold a MSc degree or PhD in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or a related discipline. The candidate should preferably have previous experience in life-cycle assessment methods and/or human and environmental risk assessment. Very good communication skills in English, orally and written, are required.
