Project Background, Job Description
The research topic is located within an industrially related project. The main goal is to develop membranes for filter applications. You will elaborate and tailor novel electrospinning procedures for fibrous membranes at a pilot scale level to steer for properties such as filter efficiencies, biocompatibility and antimicrobial properties. You can rely on an excellent research infrastructure including sophisticated manufacturing and analytical tools.
We offer a full-time postdoc position as a project leader. The work requires a high level of experimental skills to operate sophisticated equipments and design innovative experiments for developing next generation marketable filter systems.The project will be performed in collaboration with the "École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne" EPFL. The work is performed in a highly interdisciplinary environment with possibilities for personal and professional development.The initial contract is for one year and can be extended upon mutual agreement.
The candidate should have a PhD degree in Material Science, Chemistry or related disciplines. We are looking for a highly motivated person capable of independent, efficient handling of applied scientific questions in an interdisciplinary environment. The candidate is expected to actively bring in his/her scientific expertise and competence, including good communication skills. Fluency in English,both oral and written, is desired. Furthermore, we expect fluency in German or in French language
