We are looking for a software engineer to work on the development of a simulation plat-form for urban energy modelling. You will work jointly with a team of experts in the field. Your tasks will involve working with the existing codebase, integrating previous projects, improving functionality and extending the code. The process will be collaborative so that others can work with and contribute to the code base.
A git-based workflow shall be developed for the laboratory, which supports the team and projects. The candidate shall also contribute to setting up databases containing data re-quired for urban energy modelling. This will include interfacing or integrating data from sources ranging from individual building to national and international scale.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated candidate with a university degree in computer science who is knowledgeable in energy systems; or a mechanical, electrical engineer or similar with an extensive computer science background. Candidates should have profound and interdisciplinary knowledge and experience in full-stack software de-velopment. A proven track record or portfolio of similar projects is essential. The following IT skills are required: Python, git, full-stack development, and C++, knowledge of SQL and databases is desirable. Domain specific knowledge is needed. The candidate should have good communication skills, and be proficient in English; basic comprehension and oral skills in German are desirable.
