Our Laboratory for Mechanics of Materials and Nanostructures is looking for a

 

PhD Student in the field of three-dimensional thermoelectric metamaterials

In collaboration with the University of Lorraine, we wish to explore the properties of novel three-dimensional thermoelectric metamaterials.


Your tasks

Your profile

You hold a master degree in physics, material science or physical-chemistry or a related field and enjoy practical work. Knowledge of thermoelectricity electrochemistry or nanofabrication is beneficial. As an enthusiastic researcher, you like team work and have a flexible approach to collborating between different laboratories. A strong desire to work at the leading edge of measurement science and a high level of motivation to work in an international, multidisciplinary research team in the field of materials science and physics are essential. Knowledge of English (oral and written) is important and knowledge of German or French would be an advantage.


You will be registered as a PhD Student at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).You will be based at Empa Thun with close collaborations and regular visits to the university of Lorraine.


The position is available upon agreement with a planned duration of four years.
