Your tasks
As a bioprocessing postdoctoral scientist, you will have a unique opportunity to participate in an industry-academic collaborative research project between FHNW (Muttenz, Switzerland) and Lonza (Slough, UK). Your main responsibility will be to develop data workflows to collect real-time data from high-throughput microbioreactors and various analytical techniques to enable real-time optimisation of state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical production processes.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in cell culture processes, automation, data analysis and will be able to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team from academia and industry to implement innovative solutions.
The contract is limited to three years.

- establish a novel automated high-throughput bioprocessing and analytics platform; implement and optimise ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes to efficiently extract data from various sources, load it into databases and transform it into a usable format
- apply various analytical techniques to monitor and characterise bioprocess performance and protein products
- collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute experiments, contributing to overall project objectives
- troubleshoot technical issues and propose creative solutions to improve experimental and automation protocols
- present research findings through internal reports, scientific publications, and presentations at international conferences
The contract is limited to three years.
Your profile
- recent PhD graduate or currently a postdoc in the field of bioinformatics, (bio)chemical engineering, biotechnology or similar
- highly motivated with a passion for applied scientific research and technical innovation
- proficiency in data analysis, automation and data engineering
- experience in programming languages commonly used in data analysis, such as Python, R or Matlab
- experience in life science wet lab environments, high-throughput experience is advantageous
- excellent communication and reporting skills in English mandatory
- ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment and engage in cross-functional projects
- strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- willingness to travel regularly up to 50% of the time
