Process engineering biological wastewater treatment
The research for new biological wastewater processes for municipal and industrial wastewater is one of the main research topics of the water- and environmental process technology group. Especially the combination of biological processes with downstream oxidation and adsorption processes are in the scope of several projects. The Institute for Ecopreneurship holds a new process technology center where we are able to analyze several combinations of these processes. In order to plan and perform these pilot plant experiments you need a broad experience in biological wastewater treatment process technology.
Your main objective will be the collaboration in current projects concerning advanced wastewater treatment and micropollutant elimination. Additionally, you will give special lectures for water and wastewater treatment in our bachelor and master courses and supervise bachelor and master theses. The position initially is limited to one year with possible elongation up to five years.
You hold a PhD degree in environmental or chemical engineering or related fields and excellent skills in wastewater process technology especially with biological treatment processes. You have practical knowledge in planning and performing pilot plant experiments. Knowledge concerning mathematical modelling of wastewater treatment processes is a desirable asset. Excellent skills in oral and written English are a pre-requisite, German speaking skills are desired. You work independently, target-oriented and you are interested in collaborating with the biotechnology and ecotoxicology group at our institute.
