Your tasks
We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic PhD student in the area of molecular toxicology. The main focus of the 4-year project will be to develop and implement state-of-the-art, advanced cell culture systems including microfluidics and Organ-On-A-Chip technologies for the investigation of liver toxicity in vitro. The PhD position will be in the context of a collaboration with the University of Basel.
Your profile
The ideal candidate should have experience in mammalian cell culture, preferably in microfluidic systems. He/she is proficient in performing standard cell-based assays (cytotoxicity, qPCR, immunofluorescence) and is willing to develop and implement new approaches in a collaboration with skilled bioengineers. Interest in data analysis and interpretation in the context of biological and toxicological relevant pathways and experience in confocal microscopy would be an asset. Fluency in English (oral and written) is a must, German and/or French an advantage.
