Workshop Technician (Interior Finisher)
As a Workshop Technician at Jet Aviation you will be working as part of a dedicated workshop team and will be responsible for successfully carrying out a variety of tasks in the workshop in accordance with Jet Aviation procedures and aviation regulations. You will be operating under the Jet Aviation Part 145 approval, the Jet Aviation Health and Safety policy, customer requests and other airworthiness requirements.
Description/Tasks:
  • Under Direct supervision, prepares, applies, and touches up finish on aircraft furniture, aircraft specifications and design/engineering drawings. All work performed should be in accordance with customer design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations.
  • Performs high quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniture in the shop and on-board aircraft. 
  • Applies finish to furniture using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods.
  • Interprets material specifications to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail. 
  • Complies with and champions Safety, 5S and housekeeping. Ensures the protection of aircraft interiors.
  • Works to develop and implement process improvements that address safety, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and man-hours.
  • Utilizes the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and sign-off work.
  • Assists in maintaining shop equipment.
  • Performs any other duties as required by supervisor. 
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network
Qualification/Experience:
  • Previous experience in wood finishing processes preferred. Experience in aerospace industry preferred. 
  • Possess a working knowledge of inspection, process specifications and terminology.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Completion of Trade school or apprenticeship a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation
  • knowledge of English language and MS Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent communications, customer service and people skills 
  • Ability to work / carry out maintenance tasks without constant supervision
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
