Operations Supervisor - FBO Sydney
We are looking for an Aviation minded individual to join our FBO Team in Sydney. Your role will be to supervise the operational activities associated with the arrival and departure of VIP aircraft. In this role you will provide high level operations, ramp, customer service and technical ground service equipment supervision for our high-profile customer base.
Description/Tasks:
  • Delivering the highest level of customer service to all customers, suppliers and partners
  • Working with external suppliers (e.g. fuel and catering) to ensure efficient delivery of services to meet customer expectations within agreed budget
  • Communicate effectively with customers (e.g. aircraft owner, VIP passengers and crew), other business units and external stakeholders
  • Provide training and supervision to Operations Co-ordinators and Ramp Service agents
  • Raise awareness of the Jet Aviation Global Emergency Response Plan, educating employees in understanding the role that they have during a crisis and basic principles relating to communication and personal safety
  • Provide employees with an understanding of the environmental implications of the work we do and the importance of conforming to our Environmental Policy and any relevant environmental legal requirements
  • Provide employees with awareness to the causes and effect of Foreign Object Damage. Promoting active involvement through specific processes and prevention techniques, and stress good work habits through work disciplines
  • Provide employees with an overview of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and detail responsibilities in regards to the SMS
  • Provide employees who may interact with Government representative’s information and guidance on conducting business to the highest ethical standards observing all applicable laws and regulation
  • Provide employees with general awareness of General Dynamics/Jet Aviation Code of Conduct and related business principles
  • Comply with FBO Operations Manual in all respects of the operation – suggest improvements to FBO Management, National Trainer and Quality Manager where possible
  • Provide employees with supervision, knowledge and awareness on ramp safety principles such that they are aware of the dangers and hazards associated with working in an airside environment and are aware of relevant safety procedures
  • Provide employees with supervision, knowledge and skills to be able to marshall and guide an aircraft safety into / from its assigned parking position
  • Provide employees with knowledge and awareness on the relevant airports security awareness guide and procedures
  • Provide employees with the knowledge and skills to be able to operate Ground Service Equipment (GSE) and/or service aircraft safely and in accordance with relevant procedures and standards. This will include towing equipment (with towbar and towbarless), ground power units, toilet service vehicles, potable water service vehicles, air stairs, baggage belts, and other GSE as required
  • Ensure all Movements are recorded in FBO One immediately the request is received.  Ensure all staff process all movements and activities in FBO One as the activity is performed
  • Use other FBO systems as and when required such as CRM, Aircraft database, time registration, VIC system, IChris, Success Factors etc.
  • Manage staff roster for cost efficient service delivery
  • Achieve agreed financial targets and service standards as defined for the local FBO operation
  • Assist with timely production of monthly reports for the location
  • Work with FBO Manager to establish cost effective supplier arrangements in the location.  Ensure supplier costs are known promptly at the time of the movement or received shortly after the movement so they can be processed in FBO One
  • Provide direct backup and support for the FBO Manager and look to fine tune processes and procedures in the port to the ultimate benefit of the local port and potentially all JAUS ports
  • Be prepared to travel to other FBO locations to provide back-up and support when required
  • Working collaboratively with the FBO Manager
  • Training/inducting/mentoring staff
  • Track, manage and routinely report on all operations staff
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal/external regulatory and statutory rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the business;
  • Deliver and support seamless, authentic and memorable customer experience
  • Ensure that all necessary systems & paperwork are meticulous, and the operation complies with all operating procedures
  • Maintain calm and professional manner in high pressure situations
Qualification/Experience:
  • ASIC holder or having the ability to obtain and hold an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
  • ADA (Authority to Drive Airside) holder or the ability to obtain an ADA
  • A valid unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Highly organised and efficient with excellent time management skills
  • Able to deal with critical deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously while staying calm under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across multiple mediums 
  • Technically efficient with strong computer skills in Office 365, SharePoint and IT systems
  • Customer service and safety focused
  • Ability to work flexible hours. This will include last-minute schedules changes, working early mornings or night shifts, weekends, and on-call duties
  • Previous experience in the Aviation Industry is an advantage
