B300 Operations Manager - East Sale VIC

This position will be responsible for the efficient management of line activities to support programmed flying activities, effective programming of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities as well as management of continuing airworthiness responsibilities within the B300 Maintenance Control Section.

Description/Tasks:

   Plan and co-ordinate B300’s maintenance and support team activities to meet Jet Aviation policy and procedure and customer contracted requirements.

   Weekly review of completed and future planning schedules to ensure these will deliver B300 customer expectations and financial targets.

   Oversee aircraft maintenance co-ordination including phase/inspection planning to ensure maintenance performed in the facility is conducted in compliance with regulatory, company policies and procedures and contractual requirements.

   Monitor all maintenance activities carried out by team members, to ensure that all maintenance is conducted, certified and recorded correctly and in compliance with regulatory and company procedures.

   Monitor maintenance employees to ensure that they are authorised to perform maintenance activities through an approved and documented system based on the evaluation of formal qualifications and experience.

   Provide support to the SMSM on the development of Airworthiness Board and Configuration Control Board submissions

   Actively participate, comply and promote Jet Aviation Risk Management, WHS and Environment programs and Aviation Safety Management System that will engender an efficient, effective and safe working environment.

   Provide company and customers scheduled and ad-hoc reporting to agreed timelines.

   Attend identified schedule and ad-hoc customers meetings as required.

   Establishing, monitoring and improving a programme of training and continuation training using internal and/or external resources.

   Ensuring that all sub-contract orders are correctly detailed and that the requirements of the contract/order are fulfilled in respect of inspection and quality control

   Providing feedback to the Quality System about the services provided by contracted Organisations, Subcontractors.

   Responding to quality deficiencies in the area of activity for which he/she is responsible, which arise from independent quality audits.

   Ensuring, through the workforce under his/her control, that the quality of workmanship in the final product is to a standard acceptable to the organisation, OEM’s and regulatory authorities.

   Developing a production planning system appropriate to the amount and complexity of the maintenance scope of work.

   Availability of sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect and certify the work being performed.

   Availability of all necessary maintenance data as required by Part 145 CASA/DASA.

   Notifying the Responsible Manager (RM) whenever deficiencies emerge which require his attention in respect of finance and the acceptability of standards (Accountable Manager and Quality Manager to be officially informed of any lack of 25% of available man-hours over a calendar month).

   Supplying the necessary technical documents for customers and storage of the organisation’s technical records.

   The overall performance of maintenance planning and delivery.

   Be contactable as part of reasonable additional hours on a shared basis with the RM for rescue, unscheduled recs and deferred defects, and customer liaison.

   Daily Performance Management of CAF11 East Sale employees providing regular feedback, guidance and support to maintain an efficient and effective operation to meet Jet Aviation and Customer contracted requirements.

   Accountable for the most effective allocation of resourcing to ensure support is to agreed timelines to internal/external customer expectations, contractual obligations and financial targets.

   Operational approval of employee leave and training requirements.

   Operational management of contract, export and security, providing clear directions and decisions in competing priorities.

   Provide regular feedback, coaching, guidance and support to direct reports to ensure their success.

   Ensure completion of quarterly development plan discussions and career pathway’s to ensure continual people development.

Qualification/Experience:

   Minimum of NV1 security clearance or ability to meet eligibility requirements to obtain.

   Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline at a Diploma level as a minimum from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant commercial experience in civil or defence aviation maintenance and inspection environment (Defence highly advantageous)

   Ability to obtain Chartered Engineer Status (CPEng, CEngT or CEngA) status with the Institution of Engineers Australia or equivalent.

   Two years’ experience as staff of Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) or organisation holding an organisational approval (excluding 147) under DASA, CASA, EMAR, EASA or other acceptable to the NMAA.

   Sound familiarity with

o   Civil/Military maintenance practices/procedures.

o   aircraft maintenance planning.

o   Civil aircraft certification and operations.

o   WH&S practices.

o   Risk mitigation and management.

   Experience in a customer success/first work environment with multiple priorities and project deadlines.

   Demonstrated experience working within a large organisation in a commercial role (within engineering or project management environment).

   Substantial experience mentoring and guiding other team members.

   Excellent communication and influencing skills including the ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports, briefings, updates and other documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
