Senior Lead Design Engineer
This position is responsible for successfully driving an Electrical Design team in line with the organization’s vision and strategy, and utilizing diversified knowledge and experience, provides direction to employees, administers performance standards, schedule and budget. You are responsible and accountable for design activities and deliverables. As Jet Aviation’s Senior Lead Design Electrical Engineering, you will be involved in the analysis of risks, solution definition and recommendations. On top of your technical leadership, you are responsible and accountable for team development, motivation, training, and performance evaluation. You will also be collaborating closely with all design internal, upstream, and downstream customers to ensure that output is globally aligned and executed effectively.
Description/Tasks:
- Perform technical investigation and prepare proposals/quotations based on a set customer requirement defined by Sales
- Perform the assessment of design requirements for a task/project
- Review of aircraft configuration in order to check work scope feasibility, accuracy and completeness
- Work independently on System Design and appropriated Documentation for cabin “Completion” and “Modification” projects
- Selection of Equipment, Components and Material in order to fulfill RTCA DO-160 (Hardware) and DO-178 (Software) requirements
- Development of Electrical Wiring Diagrams (CAD)
- Attention to recognized safety and certification requirements
- Support of production environment (PART 21G and PART 145) as required
- Responsible for objective assignments related to schedule, budget, personnel, resource allocation, employee training and developing specifications for future projects
- Delegate tasks and sub-projects among the project assigned staff about the available manpower capacity, staff skills and tasks constraints
- Lead an engineering team within a project or program
Qualification/Experience:
- Electronic/Electrical Engineering degree (preferably Aviation) or equivalent technical degree with at least 7 years of proven experience in the field of Electrical Engineering
- Good knowledge of the Aviation Regulations (EASA and/or FAA) required
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), German or French would be beneficial
- Demonstrated Leadership, capability to lead up to fifteen employees is required
- Interpersonal Skills, Negotiation-, Coaching- & mentoring- ability, very good communication is required
