In order to reinforce the Stress Engineering Department in Basel we are currently recruiting for an
Acoustic Engineer

As part of the “Stress Engineering department” of Jet Aviation you will be responsible for successfully delivering Acoustics solutions for assigned aircraft. You will contribute to daily operations and activities to ensure project results are met respecting budget, schedule, and quality targets. You will be collaborating closely with various stakeholders throughout the company to ensure project objectives are met. You will participate in keeping the company competitive advantage in cabin noise and in proposing innovate solutions. You will follow the acoustic solutions from architecture definition to hand on finite product delivery.


• Support complete projects life cycle from quotation sales support to delivery, including scheduling and budgeting
• Support sales: technical proposals, work scope feasibility and accuracy, cost estimation
• Participate in cabin design for sound, cost & weight optimization
• Check and improve design proposals in collaboration with other disciplines stakeholders
• Build and run acoustic numerical simulations to estimate interior cabin noise levels
• Prepare sensitivity and optimization studies for sound & weight
• Prepare, instrument, coordinate and participate in aircraft flight and ground tests and laboratory tests
• Post-processing and reporting of acoustic and vibration measurements
• Correlate models and experimental data
• Prepare technical reports for flight and ground testing operations, simulations
• Propose new materials and parts for Acoustics improvement
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Prepare tools, methods, and guidelines
• Comply with work and safety regulations
• Provide Engineering support as required, including non-acoustic disciplines topics
• Opportunities to participate in CFD, rapid decompression, flight physics and stress activities

• Master degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. (preferably aviation)
• Aviation background and Acoustic experience recommended
• Testing experience would be beneficial
• Knowledge of programming language (Python, VBA) and CAD (CATIA, NX)
• Sensitivity and Optimization experience would be beneficial
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude against challenging objectives
• Proactive, forward thinking, and self-motivated team player
• Keen to learn in Aerodynamics, rapid decompression and any other advanced analysis
• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage priorities of the job
• Language English (mandatory), French and/or German (optional)
