Senior Manager Maintenance Operations
The Senior Manager Maintenance Operations reports to the Site Operation Leader. Overall job purpose is to manage, monitor and control the daily maintenance operations and activities to ensure project results are met within company budgetary and strategic requirements and as per agreed targets. The role also requires a focus on safety, customer services and employee performance.
• The overall organisation and co-ordination of all maintenance operations in the JVIE AMO with regard to efficient use of personnel and material resources
• Ensuring that all required maintenance is carried out:
• In compliance with the applicable JVIE procedures, manufacturer’s instructions, aviation regulations, and any applicable data approved or accepted by the competent authority
• In the frame of JVIE’s scope of approval, and in accordance with the customer’s requirements and within the agreed timeframe
• Apply the quality and safety policy, to promote its application to all personnel under his authority and to establish a system of just culture by following human factors principles in his area of responsibility
• Ensuring timely corrective actions on all non-conformity findings resulting from any audits (internal / customer / authority) in the departments / shops within his area of responsibility
• Promote, participate, simplify and process all personal and team work requirements to maximise effective working whilst adhering to the company standard working through continuous improvement
• Demonstrate the best of his abilities to achieve personal goals, leading to the agreed team and company performance. Respect and adhere to the company hierarchy
• Maintain a professional and personal ownership of working standards, personal presentation and tidiness of his own immediate working area and the surrounding area for the greater company team. When workload dictates or when requested by management assist in other job roles that are identified as suitable to his skills of job grade
• Have available team that is suitably skilled and competent in the capabilities required by Jet Aviation to complete the allocated tasks. Lead, develop and motivate the team through positive leadership, communication, coaching and mentoring (“On the Job” training). Manage performance of all individuals to ensure effective and efficient working and carry out performance appraisals.
• Allocate work, set targets and monitor the work performed against those targets which could include individual, project, team, departmental and/or company performance indicators and ensure that set company, departmental and personnel KPIs are met
• Ensure the customer focus of the maintenance team, continuously enhancing the service level and hence will support customer retention and ensure the safety and well-being of the customer and his possessions whilst at Jet Aviation at all times
• Ensure synergies between the different Jet Aviation entities by liaising with the other Directors of Maintenance/BMM
• Fully accountable and responsible for the project lifecycle from preparation to execution, project finalisation for quality, cost/budget and on time delivery within the parameters set
• Ensuring that all applicable maintenance data is readily available for use when required by maintenance personnel; ensuring appropriate hangar space is available for base maintenance work for protection from the weather elements
• Monitor the required manpower and tooling in advance and ensure that there are sufficient qualified personnel and tooling available for the planned work
• Define, supervise and review the duties and responsibilities of all personnel in his area of responsibility as stated in this MOE
• Planning, directing, coordinating and supervision of the activities of all departments within his area of responsibility to optimize efficiency in hangars and workshops
• Supervise and guarantee the desired work quality and working conditions under the aspects of optimal and efficient accomplishment of all tasks.
• Ensuring that all Certifying Staff receive sufficient continuation training in each 2-year period to ensure that such Certifying Staff have up-to-date knowledge of relevant technology, organisation procedures and human factor issues
• Establishment of an information procedure for all temporarily employed personnel in order to assure that these personnel will be familiar with JVIE’s procedures
• Assistance to the Logistics Department in seeking out economical provisioning of parts and equipment
• Ensuring cleanliness, order and working safety within the facility, thus ensuring that environmental and work area contamination is unlikely to occur and that the effectiveness of personnel is not impaired
• Ensuring the establishment and implementation of accident prevention activities and general safety procedures in accordance with industry standards and general regulations
• Ensuring that certificates of release to service after maintenance are issued by appropriately authorized Part-145 Certifying Staff members
• Ensuring that maintenance on aircraft at any location other than JVIE is performed by authorized JVIE maintenance personnel in accordance with the procedures specified in MOE
• The Base Maintenance Manager is also the responsible person for the aircraft components falling under the C5 and C14 ratings
• Deputising the Quality Director during his Absence ( Sick Leave, Vacation, Duty Trips)
• Deputising the Site Ops leader during his Absence in line with the DOA ( Sick Leave ,Vacation , Duty Trips)
• Interact and coordinate workload situation and resources sharing with the other Senior Manager Aircraft Operations within Jet Aviation group
• Be fully accountable and responsible for the successful achievement of his cost center and personal KPIs
• Be fully accountable and responsible for maintaining company safety standards within the own organisation
• Fully accountable and responsible for the management, execution and performance of all job disciplines and roles within the Aircraft maintenance team
• Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network
• 5 years minimum of aviation management experience, with Technical Degree or similar
• Holder of a full B1 license and/or B2 license, with Type Ratings and C-license
 • 5 years practical experience as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Jet Aviation or equivalent qualification and/or experience
• Solid understanding of the aerospace industry, OEMs, and the regulatory framework (EASA 145). Experience of running an MRO organization for large aircrafts
• Excellent track record of managing complex operations and achieving continuous process improvements
• Strong communication and customer relations skills
• Good understanding of the Business Aviation market
• Proven ability to manage a budget and KPIs
• Successfully completed leadership training or assessment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
