Job tasks
Reporting to the Head of the Legal and Technology Transfer Office (LTTO), the successful candidate will contribute to the Institute’s legal and contractual activities and support the Institute and the department with compliance matters in cooperation with scientific partners and institutions.
- Contribute to the development of a legal and contractual framework for national and international data-sharing infrastructures
- Participate in the drafting and review of technology transfer agreements with the academic and industrial partners of the Institute (services contracts, software licenses, consortia, etc.)
- Draft and monitor the implementation of internal policies and regulations
- Assist the Data Protection Officer in his tasks, in particular with the management of the register of processing activities and the coordination of the SIB Data Protection and Security Board (monitoring of objectives defined, liaison with external consultants etc.)
- Perform legal research in the fields of medical research, personal data protection, regulation of medical devices as well as related to business, labor and administrative law
- Ensure the proper administrative management of the LTTO (electronic and physical management of contracts, follow-up of legal and contractual deadlines, etc.)
Profile requirements
- Law degree from a Swiss University
- Excellent knowledge of Swiss and EU legislation on data protection and research involving human beings
- Good knowledge of intellectual property law in general and open source licenses in particular
- Thorough practical experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements in the field of medical research and technology transfer
- 3 - 5 years’ experience as Legal Officer
- Proficiency in English and French, including the ability to draft contracts in both languages, knowledge of German is an asset
