As part of the research unit “Forest Health and Biotic Interactions”, the Phytopathology research group investigates fungal diseases of trees, particularly those caused by invasive pathogens. Laboratory technician for molecular diagnostics 80-100% (f/m/d)

In the plant protection laboratory, you conduct routine diagnostics using molecular biological methods to identify pests (fungi, insects, nematodes, and bacteria). You assist in the development and establishment of new diagnostic methods and in field surveys to determine the occurrence of pests. You support the group in research projects, the operation and maintenance of the plant protection laboratory, as well in the supervision of students and visitors in the laboratory.

You have completed vocational training as a biology laboratory technician (EFZ) and possess sound knowledge of molecular laboratory methods such as DNA extraction, Sanger sequencing, and quantitative PCR. Experience handling environmental samples and plant pests is advantageous. You have good German and English skills and a strong commitment to quality. You enjoy working independently and meticulously within a dynamic team
