To strengthen cooperation with our partner institutions Eawag and Agroscope in the field of sustainable water management in agriculture, we are offering a position starting July 1, 2026, or upon appointment, for 2 years, as a

Scientist in Sustainable Water Management 80-100% (f/m/d)

You will promote and coordinate research collaboration between Agroscope, WSL, and Eawag researchers related to sustainable water management in the rural landscape. You will compile an overview of ongoing research work and current research needs, maintain an active exchange of information on this topic between researchers, and inform the directorates about progress in this area. You will develop research perspectives for the above-mentioned topic area. To this end, you will lead the preparation of a comprehensive state-of-the-art pub-lication and coordinate the development of a funding application for a joint large-scale project/program. Together with other researchers, you will organize a scientific conference or a joint contribution to a conference on agriculture and water management. In addition, you will develop a joint website for the three institutions to provide information about activities and topics.
For this task, you will have completed a doctoral thesis in a research area related to sustainable water management and/or agriculture. Ideally, you are already familiar with the current challenges facing agriculture in terms of water management in view of global change and know the relevant Swiss research institutions and networks. The topic of "sustainable water management in agriculture" is of great importance to you. Proactive communication with WSL, Eawag, and Agroscope researchers is central to this position, as is flexible working at the three locations (Birmensdorf, Dübendorf, and Reckenholz/Affoltern ZH). Good knowledge of German and English and, ideally, French is expected.
