The Finance and Support Unit is looking for a
Group Leader Central Laboratory 80-100% (f/m/d)
In this role, you will be responsible for managing WSL's central analytical laboratory, which provides specialised services and method development in the field of soil, plant and water sample analysis for our research teams. You will manage 10 employees and be responsible for the long-term methodological orientation of the laboratory and coordinate this in close cooperation with the scientific groups at WSL and other analytical laboratories within the ETH Domain. Together with the team, you will develop innovative analytical methods. You will also ensure the smooth running of services and the training of chemical laboratory technicians EFZ in close coordination with the technical staff responsible for training.
You have a university degree in chemistry or an equivalent qualification. You have many years of experience in environmental analysis, preferably in the field of analysing stable isotopes of light elements. Ideally, you already have management experience that will enable you to successfully lead a team of technical staff and trainees. You will lead your team in German, but also are fluent in English in order to communicate effectively in an international scientific environment, both at WSL and in the ETH Domain.
