Tempory employee as image analyst in Quantitative Wood Anatomy 80-100% (f/m/d)

You will be responsible for digitizing micro-sections from sub-fossil and recent wood and the subsequent measurement of various wood anatomical traits with the dedicated image-analysis software ROXAS. The work is part of the project RECONSPHERE, which aims to compare the inter-hemispheric temperature history of the past millennium using temperature reconstructions based on tree-ring anatomy (https://www.wsl.ch/de/projekte/reconsphere). You will be part of a very enthusiastic and ambitious international project team that includes leading experts in the field. The position is for 6 months with the possibility of extension.
You possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in forest ecology, climatology, geography, biology or in an equivalent field. Knowledge in tree-ring width measurements, cross-dating, and other tree-ring related approaches are an asset. You like routine work at the computer. You work carefully as well as independently and have a high level of diligence and team spirit. You are fluent in English.
