Research Scientist Soil Functions 80-100% (f/m/d)
You conduct research in the field of soil function assessment under the influence of global change and management, focusing primarily on forest soils with potential extensions to urban ecosystems. You will successfully acquire third-party funding and publish your results in international scientific and practical-oriented journals. Additionally, you maintain the existing WSL soil database and the associated soil, providing a solid foundation for addressing site-specific assessments in Swiss forests. You utilize these data in your research and expert activities, adding significant value. You carry out expert activities and teach at various levels from forestry practice to university, in the fields of pedology, soil function assessment, and soil protection. Furthermore, you coordinate work assignments in the research unit's soil chemical laboratory.
You hold a PhD Degree in environmental sciences and have built a successful scientific career in the field of soil functions. Your proven expertise includes field soil science, soil chemical methods, data mining and statistics. As an excellent team player with strong communication skills, you feel comfortable participating in transdisciplinary projects, working as an expert and teaching at various levels, and in your central role within the research unit. You are fluent in at least one national language for practical implementation activities.
