The Forest Resources and Management research unit records and analyses changes in the landscape and in the forest and seeks a
Group Leader “Sustainable Forestry for Ecosystem Services”
You will be responsible for research in forest management solutions for ecosystem services, sustainable forest operations and forest economy in a changing environment with a group of 10 researchers. Further, you will develop models and IT tools for science and outreach, engage in research of biomass and energy. You will be working with ETH and other technical Universities, implementing research results in teaching and publications, and leading the acquisition of projects in the national/international landscape.

You have a University degree at the PhD level in forestry or related fields, with a specialization in technical-economic applications. You publish your results in international scientific journals and national implementation-oriented media. You have broad forestry expertise and are familiar with the management of European forests, in particular mountain forests. You are experienced in leading teams and coordinating projects. You are creative and conceptually thinking, communicative, team-work oriented, socially competent and well networked in forest science and forestry. You have a good command of written and spoken German and English, and possibly another Swiss national language.
