Data Security Engineer (80 - 100%)
Our ICT Section consists of 20 highly skilled employees in diverse, interdisciplinary roles that support our entire operation and develop innovative ICT solutions for our mission. As a dynamically growing non-profit organisation with a global presence, we continuously work on transforming and future-proofing our ICT infrastructure and operational processes.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for an ICT Data Security Engineer (m/f/d) to actively shape the transformation of our ICT infrastructure and expand it in the long term. In this role, you will stand at the intersection of strategic planning and practical implementation, with the opportunity to develop our cloud transformation and architecture further, thereby significantly influencing the technological future of our organization.
Your duties
Data Infrastructure Design and Development
  • Design and implement data pipelines and workflows for both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
  • Build and maintain scalable and secure data storage solutions, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Optimize data integration processes for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Data Security and Compliance
  • Ensure data pipelines and storage comply with security standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, FADP).
  • Implement data encryption, access controls, and monitoring to protect sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with the security team to apply secure coding and development practices.

Cloud and On-Prem Integration
  • Develop and maintain hybrid data environments, enabling seamless integration between on-premises systems and Azure.
  • Leverage Azure tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Data Lake for efficient cloud operations.
  • Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep to automate deployments.

Data Operations and Monitoring
  • Monitor data pipelines for errors, performance issues, and security threats.
  • Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery testing to ensure data availability.
  • Manage metadata and data lineage using tools like Azure Purview or equivalent solutions

Collaboration and Support
  • Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and DevOps teams to support data initiatives.
  • Provide expertise in data modelling, schema design, and query optimization for stakeholders.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for data workflows, configurations, and security measures.
  • Prepare reports on data operations, security incidents, and performance improvements.
  • Support in ISO, Government standard.
